    Seacoast

Friday, April 4, versus Seacoast, NH. The Power Pigs versus the Seacoast team in a well-played, exciting match. According to Coach Frenzilli, this is the first time that he can remember that any rugby team has played under the lights, at any Portland venue. Final score:  Power Pigs 12, Seacoast 7. The weather was horrible (rainy, 37 degrees), and Coach Fren said it was perfect rugby weather!

    Amoskeag

PIGS DROP TWO. Game commentary from Coach Frenzilli: "The Portland Boys U-19 Rugby Club had their first losses of the season Saturday, bowing to Division 1 Amoskeag RFC 27-15 in the first match and 30-10 in the second. In the first game, Portland scored first with #8 Tim Clarke touching down. Amoskeag answered minutes later, scoring twice in short order.Trailing 17-5 at half, the Pigs answered with a try by flanker Tomas Callan. Playing inspired rugby, Portland got close on numerous occassions, finally breaking through when Kevin Boucher scored a try midway through the second half. That was it for Portland however, as they allowed a penalty, penalty try and conversion to fall 27-15. In the second match, flyhalf Matt Savage and wing Dominic Montello scored for Portland who trailed early and often to the more experienced Amoskeag seconds.

    Tough game for the lads...
